![]() ![]() ![]() Games are GPU intensive for their performance gains, so I would not expect to see much, if any, gaming difference between a 4 and 8 core MacPro with inequivalent video cards. ![]() The reason why Apple does not support SLI, the video performance they provide is adequate for them, and they believe their customers! Poor gaming on the Mac platform in not down to the lack of hardware, it's the GPU and lack of easily available video card upgrades for existing systems. Having 8 cores makes 'Final Cut Pro' production and 'Compressor' faster and other CPU intensive applications faster. They need good video cards, of course, but that is not why people purchase Macs, to play games. This suggests that Apple are more focused on CPU and other I/O performance. Ok course the 8 core Macs are better, but the issue Apple is fast approaching is the flagship Macs are being held back by their GPU (video card) performance. ![]()
